Vision & Mission

The Central Sikh Gurdwara Board (CSGB) manages and operates the daily running of Singapore's Gurdwaras (Sikh Temples); namely the Central Sikh Gurdwara at the junction of Towner Road/Serangoon Road and the Silat Road Gurdwara along Jalan Bukit Merah. Other remaining Gurdwaras in Singapore are registered under the Registrar of Societies as religious societies.

The Board was formalised through the enactment of the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board Act of the Singapore Parliament which incorporated the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board. The Board is a Gazetted Statutory Board recognised by the Government of Singapore.

Mission of the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board

The mission of the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board is to progagate the Sikh Religion and inculcate its practice amongst Sikhs in Singapore.

Objectives:

  • To propagate Sikhism by providing quality religious services.
  • To create awareness and inculcate the practice of the Sikh way of life.
  • To organise and promote the learning of Gurbani and kirtan.
  • To lead the Sangat to become and remain Amrit Dhari Sikhs.
  • To promote the awareness of Sikh Heritage.
  • To meet the needs of the Sikh Community.
